Qualifications

I've studied with a broad range of some of the most revered practitioners of the saxophone and woodwinds. In high school, I worked with Christopher Creviston, now head of the saxophone department at ASU. While earning my bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan, I studied jazz with Detroit bebop master Donald Walden and classical saxophone with Tim McAllister. During my master's degree in composition, I worked extensively with avant-garde luminaries Anthony Braxton and Alvin Lucier, as well as electronic music with Ron Kuivia.

Passing this expertise along to students is one of the most gratifying aspects of my music career.

For the past 25 years and counting, I've strived to be the best student of my instruments possible, through daily practice, research, and performance. Along the way I've amassed a wealth of knowledge, techniques, and philosophies. I hope you'll join me on the journey.
